Duarsini is located around 13 km from Burdwan town in Purulia district which marks the border of Jharkhand with West Bengal. Duarsini is a village bordered by undulating hills and lush forests. The forest is dotted with shal, piyal, shimul and palash trees with the river Satgurang flowing across. At night one can hear the music of "Madol", (drum) reverberating from the tribal village. They celebrate a number of festivals all over the year.

Attractions & Activities
The major attraction of this place are the tribal villages of tribes like Santhal, Munda, Shabaradh, and Kheriya. The jungle is an interesting place to visit, where wild animals like Bear, Wild Pig, and herds of Elephants, Hyena, and Wolf, along with some known and unknown birds can be seen. Sometimes a group of Elephants may come out from Dalma to visit Duarsini. One can spend hours sitting by the side of the river Satgurung. It is a wonderful weekend destination.
How to Reach
By Rail - Ispat Express from Howrah at 6.55 AM and get down at Ghatshila or Galudi. From Ghatshila to Duarsini is only 20 km.and from Galudi to Duarsini is 13km.

By Road - From kolkata to Duarsini is 178 km. You have to take a car for rent from Ghatshila. It costs around Rs.500/600.

The only place that you can stay here at  Forest Bunglow of West Bengal forest department. This bunglow looks like a tribal cottage. Villagers employed by WBFDC will take care of your food and other needs.
